When i think of myself and my name , what a joke is this? Who am i , partaking in this cosmic absurdity? What , you mean I'm supposed to believe that i'm this guy that the mirror shows me somehow immersed in this world doing what?
Now i have to go to get some food , "shopping" . I go in this place where there is all this food packaged in plastic, lots of different brands of the same mass produced stuff to choose from.
Here is a woman handling plastic-looking fruit and vegetables wearing plastic gloves. I wonder what the "problem" is. Is it the pesticides or is it the occasional - actually rare- bit of dirt? Is she or the vegetables infected with some contageous disease?
Now, ignoring the artificial fragrance of baked goodies coming from the bakery section, i'm supposed to stand here and compare the different brands of peanut butter and find the cheapest one. But they are in different sized jars so i have to calculate which is the cheapest by weight. Also i'll have to read the labels to make sure i'm not getting any crap . Ah, they've all got sugar in them, but my teeth are half gone after a childhood of relentless cola drinking. Wait a minute, this one here is pure, but it's almost twice as expensive as the cheapest stuff. What's all this monkey business? It says "organic" on it . So if you want to not eat shit you have to pay more because they have to work and pay lots to get the organic certification, and the big inorganic producers have mechanised on the cheap. Great. I'll have the cheap crap cause i'm a dupe.Now there's a guy in uniform whispering in his radio , with club hanging from belt, clocking me from the end of the aisle. Should have shaved before coming out. He's VERY clean shaven. Suddenly i feel like shoplifting and already guilty about it. I'll just ignore him and his paranoia i think.
So here i am in this warehouse full of food stacked on the shelves. Its doors are wide open . Anyone (as long as they are dressed and got shoes on, and not staggering drunkards) can walk in and help themselves. Nowhere does it seem to say that i'm supposed to go through that narrow passage where a pale girl bored shitless is operating a terminal and give her the "goods" for her to scan and then some pieces of paper as a sort of exchange. I'm getting some crap food and she's getting bits of paper (or digits in her online bank account) that she'll probably exchange for more crap. This is really stretching my sense of humour.
Outside , avoiding the lethal big motorised metal & glass boxes on wheels, there are more people hurriedly walking with fixed directions and serious faces, undoubtedly out to spend, or in pursuit of, more pieces of paper (or digits in online bank accounts). Outside this shop hang larger pieces of paper with big bold letters on them announcing what people are supposed to believe is going on. The "economy" is a mess and tighter measures are needed. There are threats to "security" and something has to be done about it. People have got or are about to get killed.
It seems to always be the same "news".
